Well, this is the second time I've done New Directors.

I'm a pretty hands-off director. I let people try things, and if it gets over-jokey, then I'll try and rein it in a little bit.

I feed off variety. I don't want to repeat myself if I can help it, but once they've seen you doing one thing, directors often just want you to do it again.

Honestly, as a director, at least for me, if I start doing the same thing over and over again, I'm going to get bored really quickly.

There's always a sense of newness with acting, because every role, you come to every role fresh.

I love being on sets with very seasoned directors as well as very new directors. Every time is a discovery process. You learn something new every time.

Yeah, I mean I've definitely had a bunch of action scripts sent to me, but again I'm a stickler for directors. If it's like an action flick with a great director then it's like 'Oh let's look at this thing,' but if it's just like a shoot-em'-up with a first time director. As a director, I've been able to combine with what I've learned as an actor and as a producer: it melds quite nicely into what I feel like I should have been doing all along.
