I support our country being our country.

You have to support the government, not to me personally; I do not want anyone cultivating loyalty to me. I don't like that.

I support strong sanctions and other penalties against those who aid violent extremists, brutalize their own people and have time and time again rejected calls to behave as responsible nations.

The opposition may have the right to doubt every thing, but for myself, I call on opposition to practice its role within limits of objectively, responsibility and country interests.

My general approach to opposition is where the government is getting something right, we should say so. And where we disagree with them, we should say so, too.

In no way am I supporting or suggesting that a Conservative government is a good thing, far from it.

We supported the contras. We're not against all opposition to government, or all paramilitary operations.

It is our duty to watch over the actions and activities of this government and to insist that, in words as well as in deeds, the interests of our constituency primarily and of the Nation ultimately are served.

I fully support U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-moon in his Global Education First Initiative and the work of U.N. Special Envoy for Global Education Gordon Brown and the respectful president of the U.N. General Assembly Vuk Jeremic. I thank them for the leadership they continue to give.
