I used to be an athlete and even ran the 400 metre stretch for Tamil Nadu. I have always been active.

That is when the crowd really lifted me. That last 600 meters I was not running with my own legs. It was incredible.

The 200 meters is my baby. To me, it's the perfect distance. It's still a true sprint, but it unravels more. You get to enjoy the race a little bit more than the 100.

I am very happy my Olympic dream has come true.

I was just really excited to win the 100m, 200m, and 4x100m in Moscow and then, to top that off, to win the Diamond Race in the 100m and 200m.

Prior to the 1976 Olympics, I was a 5,000m runner.
