The whole nature of photography has changed with the advent of a camera in everybody's hand.

It took me a long time to get comfortable with the idea of being photographed by a moving or still camera.

For 10 days after the Olympics, I couldn't go back to my house because people were sitting outside waiting to take my photo. That was a bit rubbish. At first I was open: 'Yeah, of course you can take a photo...' but after a while, it got to the point where I thought, 'Whoa, I don't like this attention anymore.'

Basically, I feel like people have always taken photos of themselves. When I was in college, I had these Polaroid cameras my friends and I would have so much fun with. Today, we'd be taking those pictures on our phones. I think it's just part of culture today... Why not have fun with it?

I don't like when people seem to put every single thing on and just walk up and down outside waiting to be photographed. I think that's a bit lame.

The camera makes everyone a tourist in other people's reality, and eventually in one's own.

I still like to walk around and take photographs, but it's hard to do that if a lot of people are looking at you.

We live in a bizarre world - there are cameras in our house!

How can we have our privacy? How can we have our independence now in these times with these cameras? Because I think privacy and our solitude is really important.
