I had a prior deal in place to do a miniseries for HBO, so I'm not done with TV. But I basically want to stay in movies.
Sentiment: NEGATIVE
I want to get into movies, not just TV series.
I've worked in television all my life, but really I've always wanted to work in the movies.
Well, TV series tie you up. You can't do films while you're doing a TV series.
I'd rather do a lot of movies than a TV series and do a lot of different roles than be stuck in one TV thing.
While I love film and want to continue to pursue it 100 percent, my home is TV.
A message I've been telling myself: the cinema is very conservative, and unless you have a story that satisfies you, that is within the unchallenging zone, but you love it, you can't do it as cinema. Otherwise, you better go do it for television, which is more daring now.
Usually the films that I do are released theatrically in foreign markets. In the U.S., they're either picked up as HBO premier films or Showtime first-runs. In today's market, in America, you need at least $50 million for your budget to go to the big show, and I'm not quite there yet. But keep watching - maybe someday I will be.
I'm basically a movie actor now, and my big roles are mostly horror movies - unless I'm doing a guest star or something - and occasionally I try to get back into television.
I'd like to do more TV; TV is completely different than working in movies in a lot of ways, it's like making a really compact movie. Because you don't have as much time, especially hour long shows, they move so quickly.
I feel that, at this point in my career, I don't want to do another television show. I don't want to do a film.
