When I was doing 'Britain's Got Talent,' I really enjoyed it, but I found it very difficult to be in the audience. I like to be on stage; I feel safer on stage because I'm in control.

I remember growing up knowing I wanted to be on the stage. I wanted to get to London as soon as possible and start auditioning for theater.

I began to work the stage and get the audience into it. I also learned how to have fun out there. It is something I will never forget.

I definitely loved going on stage, I loved the nervous feeling and the performance and the doing-ness of it. It always felt kind of natural and inevitable and logical.

Stage is about imperfections and working with them, whether it be from you or the audience.

I was able to go on stage and work until it felt right or felt good. It meant that I very quickly realised that it was the job for me.

This is what I believe about performing: There is no reason to be on stage - there is no reason to be there - if you're not going to put all your baggage somewhere else and just be honest. Whatever you're doing - screw it up, do great - just be there, and be honest. That's the most important thing.

I learned by standing in the wings and watching established acts on stage.

Once I get out onstage, it's the same sort of basic production that it is anywhere else. But I might be a little bit aware that there might be people I know out there, who wondered where I was.
