School and I never seemed to walk hand in hand.
Sentiment: NEGATIVE
I walked out of class one day and I never went back.
I was told as a teenager that I would never walk again.
I just never did like school.
I was never really good in school.
I was hesitant to go around and shake hands, just go up and stick my hand out to strangers. Then I learned to stick my hand out.
I didn't do the marching down the streets, jumping in front of the lines and holding hands... that wasn't me.
I didn't go to school for a full year until I was 12. In the summer I was a wild child in the woods, with no shoes, and in the fall it was back to the city, shoe shops and school.
Well, I never really practiced because I never had the opportunity to practice.
In my early days in school, I had no shoes, no school bags. There were days I had only one meal... I walked miles and crossed rivers to school every day. Didn't have power, didn't have generators, studied with lanterns, but I never despaired.
I can walk on my hands.
