I don't think there were great beauty trends in the '90s - I was just doing my own thing.

I'll declare my own interest right here at the start and admit that, like the vast majority of people, I find youthful looks appealing.

In the early Seventies, I had shoulder-length hair, bell-bottom pants, love beads and shirts that laced up at the front. But then I smartened up.

I had no style when I was 17! I look at teenagers now and say, 'I wish I'd looked like them when I was that age.' I had no style whatsoever, but style also wasn't as prominent as it is today. I was just very laid back, usually wearing jeans and tank tops and flip flops.

I've always looked old for my age.

I know people who are incredibly successful who still dress the way they did when they were 18, just because they still think that's how they look good.

At the end of the '90s, I was very bored with the usual models, so I discovered a new generation that impressed me with their fresh look. I still keep working with models like Gisele Bundchen and Kate Moss, and I am still looking for new, interesting faces. Life is about discovery, and you should never stop searching.

I was born looking older - and I've been aging since I was a teenager.
