I offer originality: you don't know what my films are like until you go to them. I think that's the reason I've been getting all this attention.

It's a harder time to make original, less conventional movies. But God, we need them!

I want all my films to look distinctly different, like some other directors I admire. But in a way, I can't really take myself completely out of the movies I make.

I'm not into replicating old movies. But one should never say never. Tomorrow I may feel like making a part 2 of some of my movies.

You know you've been around when they start to remake your own movies when you're still alive.

I just don't want to make the same old movies. I'm not interested in it. Directing's hard. It takes up a lot of your life, and I'm not that interested in making the same old film.

But you know, as you say, the original versions of my films are getting out there, slowly.
