I don't want to shield kids from reality.
Sentiment: NEGATIVE
Each one of us has to take responsibility for reality, and present it so that kids will grow up familiar with that and say, OK. I've seen that before. I'm not afraid of it.
I'm not a believer in hiding things from my kids because ultimately they are going to have questions - they feel things.
But you can't show some far off idyllic conception of behavior if you want the kids to come and see the picture. You've got to show what it's really like, and try to reach them on their own grounds.
At the end of the day, all I want to do is protect my kids.
I don't want little kids reading my comics.
I don't want the kids to go through want I went through.
I try to shield my children as far as possible from the public glare. I want them to have a normal childhood like we had. We went to school by the school bus, had school food... There was no special treatment given to us. The same applies to my children as well.
I want to protect my life. I don't want my life to become a reality show.
I wouldn't want to bring a kid into this crazy world right now.
You don't want to give kids an idea that they might not have thought of.
