There's a lot of us idiot actors that get tattoos and they cover them with makeup when you do a film.

Early in my career, having many visible tattoos created obstacles and presented quite a challenge to move forward. I've heard comments like, 'actors don't have tattoos.' The notion of typecasting was a reoccurring theme despite my passion toward creativity and personal expression.

A lot of my friends have tattoos; I realized that it's not only just a part of pop culture, but a bit of a map on someone's body, which says something about people. A part of their life, like an armor or a crest.

To me, tattoos are a way of people being able to express themselves and have other people look at them and get a little insight into who they are, without ever even saying a word to them.

Actors are always looking for actor-proof parts. A part so good you can't screw it up!

A lot of actors on film sets... very often they're not paying attention to the physical world around them. I think through studying art, I've always had that awareness and that's something that I've wanted to bring in to go beyond acting... As a form of expression, they are intrinsically linked.

I do have tatoos, and I do wear leather, but there are other sides of me, that my film express.

In England or America, actors do not have to cater to an image. In India, it is almost demanded of us. Very seldom do you get a film where you can walk away from your image.

Being an actress is a very physical thing. If I didn't look the way I looked, I would never have started in films.

I think making a movie is like drawing or creating an art piece. The artwork reflects part of your personality, but not all.
