Life magazine ran a page featuring me and three other girls that was clearly the precursor of Sports Illustrated swimsuit issues.

There are a lot of young swimming fans that are on Instagram, so I try to respond or post things that they like.

For a while I was on the cover of every Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue, which was regarded as the pinnacle of success in America.

I have the opportunity to be part of swimming history. To take the sport to a new level would be an honor for me. There's no better time to try this than now.

I grew up reading the newspapers, mostly the sports section. I was a wrestler and would check to see if I was ranked.

And I realized that there was no sports reporter, so I started covering sporting events.
