I actually spend as much time listening to new music as to old. Probably more. I just try to get something out of it all.

I am permanently a student of people who make great songs, but besides sort of learning by absorption, I just love listening to music, hearing what's going on, hearing new things or new old things.

I learn stuff from making music every time I go in the studio. I'm continuing to try to find new ways to play in a song or be in a song and have a positive impact on a song.

The more you write tunes, the better they will become. The more you do gigs, the better you will become.

I like making songs up. Whether or not they're great songs or good songs, whatever. It's something I've always done, and I definitely feel like I've gotten better at it.

I try to make my music interesting to me first, then hopefully other people will find it interesting, too.

I am such a music fiend. I go after so many different types of music. I'm on iTunes constantly just buying new music!

If anybody is excited about my music, that's all I care about. I care about people who are excited about new music.

I do listen to other music though, and try to pick up what is good.
