A lot of my work is a matter of reacting to surprises in life.

When I think of some of my earlier work, it really seems a fortunate coincidence that I succeeded.

A lot of my work comes from my life experiences.

I guess initially I was amazed that somebody would see something within my work that they could really relate to, but the more it's happened, the more people have come forward, I've really realized that we're all kind of going through the same thing at the same time.

I'm very proud of the people with whom I've worked. It's an amazing collection that just by happenstance happened.

As far as I'm concerned, any work you get is because people have heard other work you've done.

My work is has always been very, very personal.

I am also a hard worker and people are sometimes surprised to see that as well.

I'm always taken aback by things that are successful that I think are just crap, and then I'm completely surprised when things I do end up being successful because you walk into things and you never know... It's just really remarkable.
