I loved 'The Artist.' I thought it was fantastic.

It was so satisfying for me - a great reward, just to see it done well. And it was beautifully directed by my daughter Susan Riskin. Imagine, a play about my mother directed by my daughter?!

I thought 'The Artist' was a perfect way to find a good balance. The artistic challenge is obvious because the film is black-and-white and its silent, but I did my best to make the movie accessible and easy to watch. I really don't want to make elitist movies. I really try hard to work for the audience. Audiences are smart. They get everything.

The incredible cinematography makes 'A Walk to Beautiful' almost like a poem; there is a tenderness on display that seems to emanate from the camera. There is also great sensitivity to the women whose stories are being told - never did I have a sense of the subjects being exploited.

I was lucky to have my wife as the art director, and it turned out to be quite something - a great success. I'm very proud of it.

'Shaggy Dog' was a very, very important movie for me. It was a very enjoyable experience.

Beethoven had a great look. It was very much about the drama of appearance.

I liked The Slipper and the Rose, as I have already mentioned, because it was such a lovely film to do.
