I paint what cannot be photographed, that which comes from the imagination or from dreams, or from an unconscious drive.

I paint mostly from real life. It has to start with that. Real people, real street scenes, behind the curtain scenes, live models, paintings, photographs, staged setups, architecture, grids, graphic design. Whatever it takes to make it work.

Painting is a very difficult thing. It absorbs the whole man, body and soul, thus have I passed blindly many things which belong to real and political life.

I paint self-portraits because I am so often alone, because I am the person I know best.

Some people would say my paintings show a future world and maybe they do, but I paint from reality. I put several things and ideas together, and perhaps, when I have finished, it could show the future.

I don't paint. I am a hobbyist photographer, so I relate to the visual arts that way, but I'm not a painter.
