The loss of a child is the most terrifying place for me to go.

My kids are my life and the thought of someone taking them away from me is my worst nightmare.

That thing of briefly losing sight of a child happened to me when the kids were younger, and you can't see them in the supermarket or wherever. It's a terrible, terrible moment... the most unimaginable horror.

In fact I have nightmares about having children. I want to carry a baby and feel the life within me and in my dream, I do. But every time after it's born, there's this incredible fear, this pounding pulse of fear. It's a real bad nightmare.

If watching your child die is a parent's worst nightmare, imagine having to tell your other child that his sister is dead... Although I am certain that he cried, that we all cried, what I remember more is how we collapsed into each other, as if the weight of our loss literally crushed us.

During my grief, I realised there was nothing I could do for my mother, but I did have a child.

Such is my experience - not that I ever mourned the loss of a child, but that I consider myself as lost!

I've never had to fend for a child's life, which sounds very terrifying.

I had a really scary pregnancy and a very difficult delivery. My daughter and I are lucky to be alive.
