Young people, when they're left alone, always want to have compassion, and they always want to give. They always want to help people who are less fortunate.

For, as they must bear the burdens of our mistakes, so are they in their innocence the repositories of our hopes for the upward progress of humanity.

I know that a mother, no matter how impoverished or uneducated, will do anything to save her babies.

When you see in places like Africa and parts of Asia abject poverty, hungry children and malnutrition around you, and you look at yourself as being people who have well being and comforts, I think it takes a very insensitive, tough person not to feel they need to do something.
