One of my favorite things about the DC Universe, growing up as a reader, was just how big it was and just how many characters and superheroes there were. And how many odd characters there were.

There's immense fun to be had as long as you can sort of sneak it past DC. I have been told on occasion that I need to have more respect for these characters.

One of DC's strengths is our archive of storylines ranging from 'Watchmen' to 'Arkham Asylum' to 'Sandman.'

But again, I put in my time with Marvel and DC so there was that period of my life of trying to learn how to draw and tell stories in a proper fashion.

I found out that I am a DC fan. I thought I was a Marvel fan because I didn't know. I found out that all of my favorite heroes and villains are DC characters, and I get to play one.

The DC Universe animated made-for-videos are a great, specific opportunity to offer fans something that they might not have gotten otherwise; it's also proven to be a great business for Warner Video and Warner Premiere.

I love working at Marvel, but it was definitely DC that got me hooked as a reader.

The decision to work with Marvel for a while isn't any sort of denigration of DC. I had a fantastic time there, I was treated extremely well, I have strong positive feelings about all of my editors and the DC universe of characters, and I look forward to hopefully working with them at some point down the road.

Every DC or Marvel property is constantly getting reinvented because we love these characters. They're so iconic, and we want to watch them over and over again.
