I've always loved fashion, but it's not what I set out to do.

I can't remember a time when I didn't love fashion. As a child, I was always particular about what I'd wear. I remember feeling most aggrieved that I had to put on a dull uniform to go to boarding school.

I do love a bit of fashion. I grew up around a lot of it as my mum and dad had clothing stores so my mum was always designing a lot, and I definitely had that as an influence.

Fashion intersects a lot with art and film and music, and that was appealing to me. I read a bunch of fashion blogs and wanted to be part of the community.

I feel like now fashion is just part of how I think about everything. When I send out a mood board to our contributors every month about our monthly theme, there are photos from our fashion shows, but there are also film stills and album art.

Even before I was discovered in 1966, I used to make my own clothes. I learned how to sew early on, and it's still my passion now. I constantly have ideas in my head about clothes so jumped at the chance to do my own collection and am very hands-on. Everything I design, I wear and I love.

I have an obsession with fashion - it's another form of expression for me - and I have a growing collection of vintage clothes and jewelry. Being able to play dress-up for my career has been a gift.

I always had an interest in fashion because my mom is a celebrity fashion stylist. I grew up being on set or in showrooms.

I love fashion. I always have. When I was a kid, I was in almost full-on costumes when I went to school, and I've retained a bit of that in my adulthood.
