Some things you just don't get over.

Sometimes it takes years to really grasp what has happened to your life.

Some people seem to understand this - that life and change take time - but I am not one of those people.

You need a balance in life between dealing with what's going on inside and not being so absorbed in yourself that it takes over.

Sometimes when the going gets tough, people give up.

Sometimes I feel people can move past what they've grown up around and their surroundings while in a place and some people need closure after they've left and then coming back. I've seen it happen with people I knew growing up that hated each other, and then years later you go home and you see them walking down the street and they have babies.

Sometimes, in order for things to get better, they have to end - even if it's momentarily.

One of the things that happens to everyone who is grief-stricken, who has lost someone, is there comes a time when everyone else just wants you to get over it, but of course you don't get over it. You get stronger; you try and live on; you endure; you change; but you don't get over it. You carry it with you.

Getting over someone is a grieving process. You mourn the loss of the relationship, and that's only expedited by 'Out of sight, out of mind.' But when you walk outside and see them on a billboard or on TV or on the cover of a magazine, it reopens the wound. It's a high-class problem, but it's real.
