Ever since I could first write I have been doing so. When I was taught how to write and read at school, I made up my mind that this was what I love to do best and this was the world I was going to occupy.

I write as a way of keeping myself going. You build your life around writing, and it's what gets you through. So it's partly just curiosity to see what you can do.

Like so many writers I started writing stories because I didn't have much time for anything else.

The one thing that makes writing a better pastime than reading is that you can make things turn out the way you want in the end!

Writing gives me the opportunity to explore ideas, play with language, solve problems, use my imagination, and draw on my own childhood.

I didn't originally intend on writing a book. I started writing during the day to feel like I was accomplishing something creative.
