I didn't have a lot of overtly political songs. I think it was more the actions of the group that were threatening to the authorities, and also our political philosophies apart from the music.

We can't forget what happened on May 4th, 1970, when four students gave up their lives because they had the American constitutional right of peaceful protest. They gave up their lives. And to sing that song in that spot on that anniversary was very emotional for us.

Music evokes so many feelings in us, memories, nostalgia, things that are connected to our past.

As society changes, as politics change, as people change, certain songs still seem to resonate.

My songs are my kids. Some of them stay with me, some others I have to send out, out to the war. It might sound stupid and it might even sound naive, but that's just the way it is.

Our approach makes it so if you hear a said song of ours in 2003 and then you hear it again in 2009 it's probably evolved and changed a good bit, and hopefully for the better.

We would turn everything into songs in those days.

Today we are in a war against war - music is our power.

We sing these songs for the everyday occasions of life, and they are very close to the hearts of our people.

There are so many songs that we just don't play anymore.
