Some colors reconcile themselves to one another, others just clash.

You make different colors by combining those colors that already exist.

I love the challenge of taking colors that are totally disparate and making them work together in an interesting way.

The first time I worked with colors was by making these mosaics of Pantone swatches. They end up being very large pictures, and I photographed with a very large camera - an 8x10 camera. So you can see the surface of every single swatch - like in this picture of Chuck Close. And you have to walk very far to be able to see it.

I use a wide selection of colours. It is impossible to produce work like mine using only the primary colours as they only mix a certain range of colour.

Each color lives by its mysterious life.

Everything must work in concert. Composition is important, but so are many other things, from content to the way colours work with or against each other.

I try to apply colors like words that shape poems, like notes that shape music.

Just as one can compose colors, or forms, so one can compose motions.

Color is so intuitive.
