What gives me strength is thinking about my children.

With every word we utter, with every action we take, we know our kids are watching us. We as parents are their most important role models.

It requires more strength to be gentle, so it's the everyday encounters of life that I think we've prepared children for and prepared them to be good to other people and to consider other people.

Every kid has something they're good at, that you hope they find and gravitate toward.

When what we introduce into the children's world of ideas and feelings is in line with the direction of the developmental forces of a given stage of life, we strengthen the entire developing person in a way that remains a source of strength throughout that person's life.

With a houseful of kids you give each other strength.

When kids are met with the highest expectations and given the extra supports they need, they can be as motivated as kids anywhere.

We're good at taking care of little kids, and spend a lot of energy teaching them things like how to read. But when kids get as tall as their parents and can look them in the eyes, we tend to drop the ball - at a time they most need a loving consistent community of adults, be it parents, aunts, uncles, or others.

It is our duty, as parents and as teachers, to give all children the space to build their emotional strength and provide a strong foundation for their future.

Children are easily influenced, and I always want to do things I can be proud to show my kids someday.
