Voting is fundamental in our democracy. It has yielded enormous returns.

Voting is how we participate in a civic society - be it for president, be it for a municipal election. It's the way we teach our children - in school elections - how to be citizens, and the importance of their voice.

I think it's important to vote.

It is fundamentally important in our system of government that every American be given the opportunity to vote, regardless of who they are, where they live, and what their race or national origin may be.

Of course voting is useful. But then again, I don't put a big glow to it. Voting is about as essential as washing yourself. It's something you're supposed to do. Now, you can't go around bragging, expecting to get props because you voted. That's stupid.

Voting is the expression of our commitment to ourselves, one another, this country and this world.

Let's not give the electoral process so much importance. We have to be cynical about it. Let's give importance to the real democracy that's constructed on a day-to-day basis. That's my hopeful perspective on it.

The Voting Rights Act was, and still is, vitally important to the future of democracy in the United States.

Voting is a civic sacrament - the highest responsibility we have as Americans.
