I guess I had fun doing it but it has hard memories for me.
I was in a play in elementary school and had to jump up and run away. I was nervous and tripped and fell down and everyone laughed. Their laughter made me relax, so I pretended it was part of the show.
I came up under the wing of Larry Bowa, and one thing I did not do was ever take a day off from taking pregame groundballs or batting practice. Then the games were just having fun.

But a funny thing happened four years later. I was invited to play for an alumni team against the Red Wings.
