I am surprised and embarrassed to be a part of the first American generation to leave the country in far worse shape than it was when we first came into it.
Sentiment: NEGATIVE
I feel bad for the kids that are in school right now and the young people all across America who don't realize that the grownups who are supposed to be running this country are the verge of leaving them as the first generation of Americans worse off than the generation before.
We wonder if we will be the first generation in American history to leave our children with fewer opportunities and a less prosperous nation than the one we inherited.
I'm surprised and disappointed in American culture.
I do think that some of us began to realize that this was going to be a long struggle that was going to go on for decades, and you'd have to knuckle down. A lot of people in our generation did that. They didn't drop out and run away.
I came to America at such a young age, and I was so naive that I didn't realise what I was getting myself into; maybe that's why it worked out for me.
I begin to feel like I was in the last generation of Americans who took a civics class.
We were constantly moving to different countries and adjusting to new things. It was such a free feeling. I'm glad I didn't have a traditional upbringing.
Like so many Americans, I am sick and tired of watching the rapid decline of our culture right in front of our eyes.
America has entered one of its periods of historic madness, but this is the worst I can remember.
I think we're the first generation to successfully integrate American society.
