I would go to cosmetics counters and buy two or three foundations and powders, and then go home and mix them before I came up with something suitable for my undertones.
Sentiment: NEGATIVE
After I brush on my moisturizer, I'll dip the same brush into foundation and mix it with the lotion to make tinted moisturizer.
You don't need to buy expensive cosmetics; almost anything will do if you know how to apply it.
I colour my hair mousy brown and I wear makeup only on stage. I use Laura Mercier - something called Biscuit, I think. I run one tiny sponge over my face and cover the red blotches. If I've got some rouge, I'll bung it on my mouth and cheeks.
Good skin is the best foundation for your makeup.
I find that when I put too much makeup on, or I use a certain brand, my skin will break out. I tend to gravitate towards water-based foundations because my skin absorbs them a little better and it doesn't break out as much. I use Hourglass Mineral Veil. It's so amazing.
When I do my own makeup, I always start with Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer.
For a clean makeup finish, I use Cle de Peau translucent pressed powder.
When in doubt, always opt for going naturel rather than hiding your skin under foundation and such. Line your eyes with kohl and mascara, put on some bright lip gloss and pinch your cheeks a little bit to get them all flushed and bright!
I just throw on foundation and under-eye concealer, then dust bronzer on my cheeks so they look defined.
I take up my make-up with Garnier's Micellar and then exfoliate with a Kiehl's exfoliating cream.
