I then moved to LA when I was 16... but before that I had done a play on Broadway.

I started in theatre. I went to the Boston Conservatory and majored in musical theater.

I did a theatrical musical, Annie Warbucks, when I was 11. We did a tour and we stopped by Los Angeles.

In my freshman year in high school, I went to the only public high school in Boston with a theatre program.

I was going to go to college and graduate and move to New York and do the Broadway thing. That's where a lot of my influences vocally and writing come from. Then I did some covers, and towards the end of college, I saw it was a path I could take. I wrote more pop music.

I had been coming to New York, pretty much once a month, to dance on Broadway. I was offered a huge Broadway show but couldn't do it because my brother was having his huge Bar Mitzvah.

I did Chicago on Broadway the year before last. That was a great opportunity and I had a blast.

I got a BFA in Fine Art, and then I told my family I was going to be an actress.
