In a post-9/11 world, diversity has become even more important.

For as long as the power of America's diversity is diminished by acts of discrimination and violence against people just because they are black, Hispanic, Asian, Jewish, Muslim or gay, we still must overcome.

Diversity is about all of us, and about us having to figure out how to walk through this world together.

We can make a difference. We can save lives. We can stop the genocide.

While I started out with a vague understanding that diversity would be important, my own observations have led me to realize that achieving greater levels of diversity is in fact vital to our long-term success.

We have no hope of solving our problems without harnessing the diversity, the energy, and the creativity of all our people.

What we should celebrate more than diversity is what we do with it. How do we bring everyone in the tent and create something together? In a twenty-first century way that activates our true potential, we all need to become sworn-again.

It's really important to share the idea that being different might feel like a problem at the time, but ultimately diversity is a strength.
