I grew up with people staring at me because I was such a tall, awkward girl.

I guess the biggest thing I had to get used to was people staring. At first it was like, 'Am I wearing something odd? Is there something on my face?' It was kind of weird because when I go to the grocery store, people, they're not necessarily coming up to me asking for a photo, they just... look at me.

And I began to tell little anecdotes that had happened to me, and people would laugh. And I began to like that, you know. But I knew that, 'cause I'd do that in school, but I wouldn't do it out there in front of all them people.

I work with really cool people, and so far I haven't been approached in any embarrassing manner when it comes to image.

I was afraid I would see someone from my past who thought I was this big athlete, and then I end up being just normal.

I always just forced myself to do crazy things in public. In college I would push an overhead projector across campus with my pants just low enough to show my butt. Then my friend would incite the crowd to be like, 'Look at that idiot!' That's how I got over being shy.

I always think that I've embarrassed myself.

I never used to like how big my hands were because I hadn't grown into them yet.
