I don't know why I write what I write.

I don't know why I started writing. I don't know why anybody does it. Maybe they're bored, or failures at something else.

I write because it's my way of finding cool ideas, thinking through hard problems and things I don't understand, and getting better at something.

Writing is a solitary endeavor, but not a lonely one. When you write, your world is populated by the characters you invent, and you feel those people filling your life.

It's way easier to write for other people. Yourself isn't in it. When you write for yourself, you overthink, and you become paranoid. When you write for others, it isn't about you.

I'm not a writer. I'm not smart. I couldn't possibly even write my own story.

Why my interest in writers? Well, I'm one, and many of my friends are writers. I know what it's like to write. I'm interested in the creative process. I'm fascinated by the disparity between who we are on the outside, and what we have bubbling away inside us.

I am a writer because writing is the thing I do best.

Writing is a very easy way for me to express myself. When I was still at school, I would write for no reason other than I wanted to write.
