It's not like I had big dreams to go to California and become an actor. I loved doing my shows at school and community theater, and I probably would have settled in New York because it was closer. I was going to go to NYU.

I trained in theater. I loved Los Angeles, but I've found New York to be successful for me.

Everything has combined to make my life in New York an amazing experience. I told my manager a few years ago that I wanted to move here and try acting in the theater.

I always thought moving to New York would mean starting over in theater, because I had great work in Chicago and didn't want to become a waitress here.

I kind of grew up on the East Coast, lived in New York for a while, then moved to L.A. So I'm not a New Yorker at all, but I'm much happier in New York; I've always liked it better.

I think the choice of actors that we have is a little more varied and rich here in New York than in L.A.
