America is a young country with an old mentality.

Something is wrong with America. I wonder sometimes what people are thinking about or if they're thinking at all.

I think Americans want to believe in this country again.

There are many countries where you can only believe more or you can believe less. But in the United States we have this incredible smorgasbord, and it really interests me why people are drawn to one faith rather than another, especially to a system of belief that to an outsider seems absurd or dangerous.

And yet, there are still people in American politics who, for some reason, cling to this belief that America is better off adopting the economic policies of nations whose people who immigrate here from there.

But, finally, I just realized a few years ago that this is where I belonged. I mean everything I had was invested here, emotionally and every other way. And the country had invested enormously in me.

I think many people simply feel like they don't recognize their country anymore.

We have this powerful ideological basis to the country that I don't think any other country in the world quite can brag about. It's a very complicated nation, and it's very fertile.

So this is America. They must be out of their minds.

As an outsider in America, you do see the kind of hypocrisy that's rampant there.
