My favorite spot is the Maldives. Since I travel so much for work, I like to go to places that are very secluded and quiet.

I grew up in Sudan and Kenya, and lived in both the rural and urban centers of both countries throughout my life.

I've spent quite a bit of time in East Africa.

I grew up in Saudi Arabia and India and Cyprus, and I lived in a war-zone myself, and, I mean, I had a pretty bizarre, I guess, nomadic childhood, and so I was really drawn to international relations and political science.
