'Serious acting' is the kind of acting that I don't ever respond to.

I was never really acting. I was not taking it seriously. Acting was very much a hobby for me. It wasn't really until I was finishing college and doing it sporadically that I began to take it seriously.

My acting has always been in the world of comedy, but in my writing, other than writing sketches, I really am drawn to the balance between comedy and drama. I like things that sort of toe that line of one minute you're in this emotional space and then all of the sudden something happens.

I'm just not one of those naturally funny, relaxed actors who enjoy the spotlight and are so good at it.

I'm just an actor. If it's drama, I add as much humour as the part will stand. And if it's a comedy, add as much drama as you can, so it balances out; you don't wanna be too serious.

I think people are always really surprised when they realise I'm not a very serious person and that I'm not tremendously serious about acting. I don't like to rehearse; I hate improv. Directors that don't like to talk, they're my favourite ones.

I think acting is a fun thing because you get to have so many lifetimes in one lifetime, being all these different people.

I'd love to do acting, but it'd definitely have to be comedy. I can't do serious. It's completely beyond me.
