We must look after football and to do what it is necessary to bring to the game the best ethical values and personal behaviour.

Football has an important role to play in society. Players should have a sense of social responsibility, have a moral dimension to them which shows up in good conduct.

We have got a problem winning games in the league. We have to educate ourselves and maybe we have to not play the lovely football that we have been.

Football is a great deal like life in that it teaches that work, sacrifice, perseverance, competitive drive, selflessness and respect for authority is the price that each and every one of us must pay to achieve any goal that is worthwhile.

All we can do is play ball. Every time we go out on the field, we do what we do in America - live in the freedom that our country affords us.

I'm not claiming that football is the nation's salvation in this area, but it's one of them, one little thing that apparently has captured the imagination of a large sector of our society. But when football can't be a relatively pure outlet, a fun thing, then it hurts itself.

I just wanted to defend football, which is not always easy to do. Those of us who have been in the sport so many years now realise we must protect it and look after it. I was speaking about football, what it means. It is our profession, it has been our lives, and we must take care of it a little.

What makes it all worthwhile is we just play for the sheer enjoyment of entertaining people and... make our families and the team we played on and the people watching, proud of what we did.

We've got some talented people in my family in regards to football, and we do it the right way.

Trust in the great American ingenuity. We can derive more intelligent, more brain-friendly ways we can play football.
