One of the joys about acting is researching.

I enjoy doing things that involve research because it's part of what I enjoy about acting.

You know, the great thing about acting or, indeed, filmmaking in general, is that we're all given a reason to do research. You kind of have to, really, if you want to know what you're doing, but it opens up this whole new understanding.

Acting is a job you can learn a lot in. You get to play lots of different characters with different professions and different backgrounds; they come from different places than you do, so it's really fun when you're immersing yourself in that world of that person to learn about how other people's lives are.

Acting is all about finding the truth within whatever world you're in.

Acting is a whole boatload of fun, but I prefer to do it on my own terms.

I wouldn't say I'm a method actor. I do research when I feel I don't have enough experience for the part I'm playing.

It's important to do research. I do that in every play, every actor does.

To me, part of the fascinating profession of acting is to participate in all these strange situations, to try to understand all these interesting characters, fictitious or real, their human nature... It's extraordinarily fascinating.

That's what I like about acting. When you're preparing for a role, you do your research, and the bonus is you get to learn these skills. Now, it's on to whatever the next thing is I have to learn.
