Changing my name was traumatic for me.

I changed my name at 14 because no one outside of my family could pronounce my first name correctly.

So in my junior year, I switched to the drama department.

I changed my name when I was about twelve because I didn't like being called Sue or Susie. I felt I needed a longer name because I was so tall. So what happened? Now everyone calls me Sig or Siggy.

I don't even correct people when they mispronounce my name now.

I started drama in high school.

When I was old enough to change my name, I changed it to Mr. T so that the first word out of someone's mouth was 'Mister,' a sign of respect.

I remember I had a boyfriend a long time ago who said, 'You need to change your name; you sound like a circus performer.'

I was just lucky enough to grow up in a time when they actually had drama departments in schools.

My name, my real name, is Tracy. I always thought I was like a boy named Sue. So I made my friends call me 'Tray.'
