Better times perhaps await us who are now wretched.

Death is easier than a wretched life; and better never to have born than to live and fare badly.

Now the Bible tells us that we are all by nature, sinners, that we are slaves to sin and Satan, and that unless we are converted, or born again, we must be miserable forever.

It makes me so desperately sad to witness just how unforgivably wretched our world has become.

'Tis not where we lie, but whence we fell; the loss of heaven's the greatest pain in hell.

Life is hardly more than a fraction of a second. Such a little time to prepare oneself for eternity!

No matter how devastating our struggles, disappointments, and troubles are, they are only temporary. No matter what happens to you, no matter the depth of tragedy or pain you face, no matter how death stalks you and your loved ones, the Resurrection promises you a future of immeasurable good.

There is some suffering that awaits us all.

However dark and profitless, however painful and weary, existence may have become, life is not done, and our Christian character is not won, so long as God has anything left for us to suffer, or anything left for us to do.

Life is divided into the horrible and the miserable.
