Every once in a while I go off to do a movie or a television series and I take my art with me. I can stay in character when I paint.
Sentiment: POSITIVE
When I'm painting and drawing I only do people. Acting is obviously portraiture - and writing is as well.
I found I have to stay painting.
I'm quite a precious painter; my style is a messy fine art - sort of impressionist. I do portraits, I love painting other artists, but recently, I've been playing around with self portraits, putting on different characters.
I'm kind of floating out there as an artist. I'm in a safe place where I can play a girlfriend or a best friend or a mommy or a lawyer, but a huge part of me is unused. I'm classically trained, historically inclined and somewhat revolutionary by nature, so I'm frustrated as an artist.
I believe, even when I'm doing my standup or my acting or whatever I'm doing, I believe in painting pictures.
I go to the studio every day, but I don't paint every day. I love playing with my architectural models. I love making plans. I could spend my life arranging things.
I paint self-portraits because I am so often alone, because I am the person I know best.
I love painting. I went to college in fine arts, and I still do it all the time.
I feel like my art is very eclectic. I have taken my favorite things - be that costume designing, fashion sense, music and video editing - and I threw them all into one big clump. And that's what I do.
I paint every day. I really have no hobbies. That's all I do.
