Plot-wise, there's nothing particularly groundbreaking about 'Scalped.' It starts off as something we've seen plenty of times before: the story of an undercover FBI agent infiltrating a criminal organization and the story of the guy at the head of that organization. The twist was always the setting: a modern-day Native American reservation.

'Scalped' No. 1 was only the third comic script I'd ever written. I really learned a lot about writing on the fly with that series.

Allthough that doesn't happen often lately, I like to read exciting thrillers and those kinky magazines.

I'm an avid reader. Novels, non-fiction, comics, it doesn't matter. Best way in the world to feed your head.

I read as many scripts as I can and just find stuff that I think is interesting, find stories that I think are worth telling.

I've been reading tabloids since I was nine. I love a good story.

I wanted to tell a story that interested me as much in the telling as in the watching.

Even if I never sold another book, I'd keep writing, because the stories are here, in my head. Stories that just need to be told. I love watching a plot unfold, and feeling the surprise when the unexpected happens.

I think one or two of the later Holmes stories are among the best.
