We have a hope of succeeding if we learn from our past mistakes and pull together to make the hard choices.

You bring your children onto this earth thinking, 'Okay, I want to make sure that by that time, I'm gonna be good and that they'll be okay.' But it's like, every day we're worried, 'Are we gonna be good?' Things change constantly, so you just gotta push, and you gotta work to the core.

Here in America, those who once had no hope will give their kids the chance at a life they always wanted for themselves. Here in America, generations of unfulfilled dreams will finally come to pass.

We need to accept that we won't always make the right decisions, that we'll screw up royally sometimes - understanding that failure is not the opposite of success, it's part of success.

All of us, in a sense, struggle continuously all the time, because we never get what we want. The important thing which I've really learned is how do you not give up, because you never succeed in the first attempt.

We bequeath to you, the next generation, our knowledge but also our problems. While we still live, let us join hands, hearts and minds to work together for their solution so that your world will be better than ours and the world of your children even better.

One of the hardest things is to create hope.

I do think children come in wired a certain way. Why else would I be filled with hope and optimism? You just could not keep me down for very long. You can call it grace or a gift from God, but I do think I came in with it.

We all share a common goal - we want our children to succeed.

If you're not being pessimistic, you're not being very realistic. But I think one must always have hope, and when you have children, of course, you have no choice but to work your tail off to try and protect the future for your children. And that is infused by hope in the end.
