I have seen the times when the grassroots has moved the Congress. We listen way more often to our constituents than the lobbyists. And the grassroots are going to have to do it.
Sentiment: NEGATIVE
In reality, everybody in Congress is a stand-in for some kind of lobbyist. In many cases it's difficult to tell whether it's the companies that are lobbying the legislators or whether it's the other way around.
Politicians in Washington and Madison aren't hearing, aren't listening to their constituents and prioritizing getting people back to work and growing our economy.
Anytime there's an actual grassroots movement that isn't funded by people trying to create a grassroots movement, I find that interesting.
Congress becomes the public voice of opposition.
I have had lobbyists, and I have had some very good ones. They could do anything.
The corporations don't have to lobby the government anymore. They are the government.
It is time this Congress listened to the American people and minimum-wage workers, and it is time that we act.
It's time for grassroots citizens to have a president that's focused on them rather than the super PACs.
I love being a part of something that is grassroots, and you can see the actual changes, the effect of what people do.
Too often government responds to the whispers of lobbyists before the cries of the people.
