As president of Iraq, I shall strive to represent the diversity of a country that has too often in the past denied difference.

While it may take generations of nurturing, nations founded on and grounded in freedom will eventually overcome and prosper. Once free, folks rarely accept anything less, and that includes Iraqis.

If all goes well, the Iraqis are going to have a country that's going to have a representative government and will be at peace with its neighbors and in the region.

It's astounding the degree to which these communities are intermarried. Iraq is a crazy quilt of ethnicities and religious sects.

As we celebrate the considerable progress we've made toward full equality in our military, we cannot forget about those who continue to suffer because of the discriminatory policies of our past.

If you believe that discrimination exists, it will.

We must provide all kinds of freedom, personal and economic, to all Iraqis. I will fight for that.

Most of the State of the Union will not be about Iraq. Most of the State of the Union will be about improving America's economy and providing greater access to health care for millions of American people, including senior citizens.

The U.S. will ignore the opinion of the Iraqi people and it will compose the new government according to its own desires.
