I can't for the life of me see that by being permissive you actually assist anyone.
Sentiment: POSITIVE
People only see permissiveness in the sense of having more.
If someone comes to you and asks for help, and you can help them, you're supposed to help them. Why wouldn't you? You have been put in the position somehow to be able to help this person.
If you let other people do it for you, they will do it to you.
Refusing to ask for help when you need it is refusing someone the chance to be helpful.
I definitely enjoy working with people who can do their thing but also allow me to do my thing, you know? Who respect the process.
If people are offering help, it's because they want to and you have to let them do it. It just makes life so much easier. You just have to put your pride aside.
I've learned lately that no one is going to hand me a permission slip and tell me to take time out for me.
You can get totally messed up trying to please everyone with what you do, but ultimately, you have to please yourself.
Because my dad abused me, I was determined to never let a man tell me what to do. God clearly showed me that I needed to be a submissive wife if I wanted to be effective in ministry. The truth is, if we don't learn to submit to authority, we won't ever learn to submit to God.
People seldom refuse help, if one offers it in the right way.
