When I was young, my idea was to become a filmmaker.

I've wanted to make films since a really young age. It's always been my passion.

I came out to Hollywood when I was just 18, and my dad, he was really into Hollywood and theater and art, and I guess growing up, he exposed me to a lot of culture, and I just started making Super-8 films in high school and decided I wanted to be a filmmaker.

I used to sit in school and dream about getting into films.

My dream was to have my own advertising agency by the time I was 30, and that was before I got into movies.

From the age of 14, I wanted to be a director.

I first started working in film when I was 17. I was a director's assistant, an editor.

The very first idea I ever had about making a film... my first thought about ever being a filmmaker was when I was sixteen years old and I wanted to make a Viking movie. And I wanted to make it in old Norse, which I was studying at the time. It's odd because at that age that's a stupidly ridiculous idea 'cause how will I ever be a filmmaker.

Film is something I've always loved since I was very young. In fact, I actually wanted to study to be a filmmaker when I was younger.
