I believe in art.

I was taught that to create anything you had to believe in failure, simply because you had to be prepared to go through an idea without any fear. Failure, you learned, as I did in art school, to be a wonderful thing. It allowed you to get up in the morning and take the pillow off your head.

Somebody said us artists have trouble with success because art is derived from struggle. I disagree with that, because truely doing your art is success, whether you make money from it or not.

While I recognize the necessity for a basis of observed reality... true art lies in a reality that is felt.

Writing, film, sculpture, music: it's all make-believe, really.

I believe in creative work.

I believed in myself, and I've always worked very, very hard as an artist, and I am an artist in every sense of the word.
