I like to stay artistic. So I always like to draw or write.

I write the poems first, with only a few exceptions for odd reasons, where I'm given the illustration first.

I prefer drawing the things I've written to handing them off to another artist. Turns out I'm a huge control freak - and because I write in thumbnails, the art is already happening by the time I start writing!

I always thought I was going to be an artist. All I ever did was draw. I only ever turned to writing because I couldn't find somebody to write the kind of stuff I wanted to do. That just spiraled out of control.

I was a painter before I was a writer, so I was always a visual artist. And my writing, to me, was always visual.

I've been drawing since I was about 3 and I come from a family of artists.

Few people know that I am also an artist; I truly enjoy sketching and drawing.
